Prototype privacy notice

Your trip prefs deserve care.

This notice explains what Ask Ula learns while packing your trips, why we use it, and the choices you have.

Effective 31 August 2026 · Version 1.1

In a nutshell

Ask Ula is a prototype that packages trips — a weekend, a week, or a longer holiday. The project operator is responsible for the information Ula processes. We use the minimum context needed to show two packaged plans. We do not sell personal information, run advertising profiles, or claim that Ula books or pays for hotels or tickets.

You stay in controlPrefs never authorize a provider confirmation. You pay the from-€ trip total in Ula; hotel and train stay Requested.

What we collect

Depending on how you use Ula, we may process:

  • WhatsApp information — your phone number, profile name, messages, replies, delivery status and any location or voice note you choose to share.
  • Trip preferences — when (2 days / 3 days / long weekend), who is coming (solo, friends, family, or with a kid), budget band, and vibe.
  • Plans — packaged suggestions you viewed or said yes to, and preferences you explicitly ask Ula to remember.
  • Technical records — webhook events, security checks, error logs and timestamps needed to operate and protect the service.

How and why we use it

We use this information to understand your request, show two packaged plans, remember choices you ask us to retain, provide support, prevent misuse and improve reliability. Ula does not complete hotel or ticket purchases as part of the packaged-trip checkout.

Depending on the activity, processing is based on taking steps you request or providing the service, your consent for optional features such as precise location, our legitimate interest in operating a safe and useful prototype, or a legal obligation if you later use an experimental booking tool.

AI and meaningful decisions

Ula uses automated systems to interpret messages and choose two packages from a small trip catalogue. Recommendations can be imperfect, so dates, prices, and availability should be confirmed on the official provider pages. Ula will not complete a booking or payment without your confirmation on those pages. We do not use solely automated decisions intended to create legal or similarly significant effects for you.

Who receives information

We use service providers to run the prototype, including Meta and WhatsApp for messaging, Vercel for hosting, and Supabase for database services. When you open a stay, train, or ticket link, that provider’s own terms apply. Experimental booking tools in the same codebase may also use Stripe or isolated browser execution; those are not part of the packaged-trip checkout.

Some providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Before a public pilot, Ask Ula will document its processors, locations and applicable transfer safeguards.

Children and families

Ask Ula is for adults planning a trip; it is not a service for children to use independently. Traveling with a kid is a preference that can shape the two packages. Please do not send a child's full name, exact birth date, photo, medical records or other sensitive details. If child information is sent unnecessarily, you can ask us to delete it.

How long we keep it

Raw webhook payloadsUp to 30 days for operational troubleshooting.
Conversation messagesNormally 90 days during the prototype.
Precise session locationUp to 24 hours by default. A broader city can remain until you change or delete it.
Plans and preferencesUntil you delete them or ask Ula to forget them.
Voice-note mediaNormally deleted after transcription and processing, within 24 hours.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your information; restrict or object to certain uses; or withdraw consent for an optional feature. These rights can depend on the circumstances and applicable law. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

For a privacy request, contact Ask Ula on WhatsApp at +49 155 10331433. We may need to confirm that the number belongs to you before acting on a request.

Website and security

The Ask Ula website does not currently use advertising cookies. Following a link to WhatsApp or a booking provider means that provider's own privacy terms apply. We use access controls, signature verification and other safeguards appropriate to the prototype, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this notice

We will update this page when the service, providers or data practices materially change. The effective date and version at the top show the latest revision.
